PAUL ORZEL (incumbent), Unaffiliated
Term begins 2023

Paul has served on the Old Lyme Zoning Commission since January 2016 (alternate, then full member).  He has been chairman of the Commission since 2021.  Paul has been instrumental in the modification of the Old Lyme Zoning regulations with procedures, building permits, construction site storage, electric vehicle charging stations, and other key areas.

 

Career highlights:

Paul has a broad range of international business experience working for Raytheon (formerly UTC) and Pratt & Whitney over a 40-year career.

​

Education:

B.A., Business Administration (summa cum laude), College of Emporia, Kansas

Degree in Tool Design, Porter School of Engineering Design.

 

Personal:

Married and has three adult children and 10 grandchildren. Paul and his wife have lived in Old Lyme since 2005 (summer residents since 1982).

 

Civic contributions:

  • Old Lyme Zoning Commission

  • Co-chair of the Soundview Operations Advisory Council to the selectmen

  • Member of the Soundview Gateway Committee

  • Alternate Soundview Beach commission

TAMMY TINNERELLO (incumbent)
Term begins 2024

Tammy has served on the Old Lyme Zoning Commission for five years and is the current Vice Chair. In that timeframe, she has helped the town navigate several challenging zoning issues brought forth to the commission. Tammy is a real estate professional who has in-depth understanding of property rights and zoning regulations. To further her knowledge in this arena, she completed the 2023  Connecticut Bar Association's course on land-use law. She is passionate about being fair while preserving the town’s unique character through prudent enforcement of the zoning regulations.

Other career highlights:

Tammy is a dedicated and top-producing real estate professional in Old Lyme and is widely respected by her colleagues and clients.

​

Personal:

  • Tammy and her husband Joe have resided in Old Lyme for over 20 years and raised their four children here, all of whom attended Region 18 schools. They continue to enjoy this community they call home.

  • Tammy loves Old Lyme and is dedicated to serving the town of Old Lyme on the Zoning Commission

 

Civic contributions:

  • Five-year member of OL Zoning Commission

  • Active board member of LYSB for six years

  • Volunteer at Region 18 schools
