H. Perry “Grub” Garvin III
Grub Garvin, a 5th-generation Old Lyme resident, attended and graduated from the Region 18 school system. A longtime distinguished public servant, he has served on the Board of Finance for 26 years and is completely familiar with Old Lyme finances and revenue details.

Operator of-Hawks Nest Beach rental properties (third generation), a large, family-owned business in Old Lyme
Personal:

His children graduated from Region 18 schools and his grandchildren are attending our schools today.

BOARD OF FINANCE ALTERNATES
Maria Corrao Marchant (incumbent)
Maria has a strong background in finance, human resource, insurance management, and small business ownership. Maria has been a BOF alternate since 2019. She was a former top director of human resources in a Boston firm. For the past 20 years she has been self-employed in the healthcare insurance industry.

Personal:
Maria is a lifelong resident of Old Lyme and attended Region 18 schools. She resides with her husband Chris and their two daughters who attend Region 18 schools.

Matthew F. Olson (incumbent)
Matt has a finance and management background and has served our BOF as an alternate since 2019. He is currently a senior director for Travelers Insurance in Hartford.

US Navy retired Commander in Naval Aviation (F/A-18 pilot)

Awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (Strike Flight), Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign decorations.
